A procurement officer in Jubail receives two quotations for the same scaffolding contract. One comes from ahmed.contracting2019 at a free webmail service. The other comes from a named person at the company's own domain, with a signature that matches the commercial registration. Nobody writes down that this influenced the decision. It did.
There is a second, less visible problem with free and personal addresses: they belong to the employee, not the company. When a salesperson leaves, the customer conversations, the supplier price lists and the password-reset emails for half your online accounts leave too. A company mailbox can be reset, forwarded or handed to a successor in a minute, because the company owns it.

Take a twelve-person trading company in Dammam. The two partners keep years of attachments and live in their calendars, so they get Business. Six sales and operations staff need calendar sync on their phones: Pro. The accountant, the warehouse, info@ and careers@ only send and receive: Lite.
That is 2 × 45 + 6 × 23 + 4 × 17 = 296 SAR a month, or 340.40 SAR with VAT, for twelve mailboxes. It is taken monthly from a prepaid wallet in riyals and each charge produces a ZATCA e-invoice. Fear of the cutover keeps more companies on a bad mail service than price does. The order below is the one that makes the move boring. It works whether you are leaving Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, a GoDaddy or cPanel host, or a server in the office.

Whoever looks after IT in a small company usually does it alongside another job. The console is built for that person: create a mailbox, reset a password, add an alias such as sales@ pointing at a real person, forward a leaver's mail to their manager with or without keeping a copy, and release a message from spam quarantine — each is a screen, in Arabic or English, not a support ticket.

If your company runs on Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and co-authoring in Office, then Microsoft 365 is a suite and the mailbox is one part of it; moving only the mail would make daily work worse. The same applies to a company built around Google Docs. Skyline Mail is the right choice when what you need is dependable mail, calendar and contacts on your domain at a known price in riyals — not a replacement for an office suite. Companies with a mixed estate often move the ordinary mailboxes and keep a few suite licences; our page on what can sensibly move off Microsoft's cloud goes through that split.
One more honest limit: mail is not a file-transfer system. Send drawings and videos as links from a file store rather than as attachments.
Size and sync. Lite is a 10 GB mailbox at 17 SAR with webmail, IMAP, POP3 and SMTP. Pro is 30 GB at 23 SAR and adds calendar and contacts sync (CalDAV and CardDAV) and ActiveSync for phones and Outlook. Business is 100 GB at 45 SAR and adds shared mailboxes such as sales@ and support@. Prices are per mailbox per month, excluding 15% VAT.
Yes. Plans are per mailbox, not per company. It is normal to put the directors and the sales team on Pro or Business and the info@ and accounts@ addresses on Lite.
The console has an import tool on each mailbox. You give it the old server address and the old mailbox sign-in, and it copies folders and messages over IMAP in the background while people carry on working. You can run it again before cutover to pick up anything that arrived in between.
Not if you follow the order on this page. Mailboxes are created on Skyline first, so whichever server a sending system reaches during DNS propagation, the message is accepted and stored. Nothing is deleted from the old provider until you decide it is safe.
The console generates the records for your domain, including the DKIM key. If your DNS is hosted with Skyline you add them in the same console; if it is elsewhere you paste them at your DNS provider.
Yes. Forwarding is set per mailbox in the console, and a "keep a copy" option decides whether the message also stays in the original mailbox or is redirected only.
No. Hosting plans include basic mailboxes that live on the web server alongside the site. They are fine for a contact form or a single address. The Lite, Pro and Business mailboxes described here run on a separate mail platform with its own filtering, sync and storage, and are what we recommend for the address your customers write to.
Mail is standard IMAP, so you can copy every folder out with any IMAP tool or mail client at any time; there is no proprietary format to escape from. Mailboxes are billed monthly from your wallet, a month at a time.
