Business email for Omani companies, on your own domain

A tender submission, a quotation to a ministry, an invoice to a client in Muscat: in Oman, serious correspondence still travels by email, and it is judged by the address it comes from. Skyline Mail puts your team on name@yourcompany.om or .com, with Arabic webmail, Outlook and phone sync, and the authentication records that keep your messages out of spam folders.

Why a Gmail address costs Omani businesses more than it saves

Many small companies in Oman start with a free address, then find out why that is a problem. A procurement officer filtering bids sees a personal address next to company domains. A large client's mail system treats it with suspicion. When an employee leaves, the mailbox leaves with them, together with years of customer conversations. And nobody can set up a shared address for tenders or accounts that outlives any one person.

Email on your own domain fixes each of those: the address is the company's, mailboxes are created and closed by you, and history stays when people move on.

Setting up mail on a .om domain: what changes where

Omani domains are often registered through a local registrar, with DNS managed in that registrar's panel. You do not need to move the registration to use Skyline Mail. You only change records.

RecordWhat it doesWhere you change it
MXTells the world which server receives your mailWherever your DNS is hosted today
SPF (TXT)Lists the servers allowed to send as your domainSame place; merge with any existing SPF, never keep two
DKIM (TXT)Signs each message so receivers can verify itSame place; the console generates the key
DMARC (TXT)Tells receivers what to do with mail that fails the checksSame place; start with a monitoring policy

If you prefer one place for everything, point the domain's nameservers to Skyline and manage DNS next to your mailboxes. Either way, the registration stays yours. More on Omani domains is on the .om domain registration page.

Switching without losing a single message

  1. Create the mailboxes on Skyline first, with the same addresses people use today.
  2. Import the old mail with the console's IMAP import tool. It runs in the background; people keep working on the old system.
  3. Change the MX records. During propagation, whichever server a sender reaches, the message is accepted and stored.
  4. Run the import once more to pick up anything that arrived at the old provider in between.
  5. Connect phones and Outlook, then close the old accounts only when you are sure.

Guided migration support covers moves from Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and GoDaddy. Schedule the MX change for a Thursday afternoon, before the Omani weekend, and the quiet days give the change time to settle.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use my .om or .com.om domain for email?

Yes. Keep the domain registered where it is and change its MX and authentication records so mail is delivered to Skyline Mail. If your DNS is with your Omani registrar, you paste the records there; if you move DNS to Skyline, you manage them in the same console as your mailboxes.

Where is the email stored?

On Skyline Mail servers in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It is not stored inside Oman.

Does it work with Outlook and our phones?

Yes. Every mailbox works over IMAP and SMTP with any mail app. The Pro and Business mailboxes add ActiveSync for Outlook and phones, plus calendar and contacts sync. There is also webmail in the browser at mail.alskyline.com.

How much does a mailbox cost?

Mailbox plans are priced per mailbox per month in SAR and shown live in the console and on the business email page. Start the free trial to see the current price for the size you need. Every web hosting plan also includes a number of basic mailboxes on the hosting server.

Can you move our existing mail from Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or GoDaddy?

Yes. Each mailbox has an import tool that copies folders and messages over IMAP in the background while people keep working, and our team offers guided migration support for the switch itself.

Will our messages to ministries and large companies land in spam?

Correct SPF, DKIM and DMARC records give your messages the best chance. The console generates them for your domain, including the DKIM key. Content and sending habits still matter, so we explain those too.

Can we have shared addresses like sales@ and tenders@?

Yes. Aliases and forwarding are available per mailbox, and the Business mailbox adds shared mailboxes so a team can work one address together.
