Duqm is where Oman builds big things: a port, a refinery, a dry dock, industrial plots and a town growing around them, far down the Al Wusta coast. The companies working there are often project teams, joint ventures and subcontractors who arrive for a contract, mobilise fast and leave when it is done. Skyline lets them set up email, files, servers and backup in an afternoon, pay for exactly the months they need, and close it all down cleanly.

Run from Riyadh. Servers on one to twelve-month prepaid terms, billed in SAR.
Most Omani businesses grow into their IT over years. Duqm project teams have weeks. The Special Economic Zone is a long drive from Muscat, local IT suppliers are few, and nobody wants to ship and install a server room for a two-year contract. Teams rotate, subcontractors come and go, and at the end the client wants a clean handover of records.
That makes Duqm the clearest case in Oman for cloud services: nothing to install on site, nothing to ship back, and costs that start and stop with the project.
| Phase | What to set up | Skyline service |
|---|---|---|
| Mobilisation (week 1) | Project domain, mailboxes for the core team, shared addresses for documents and HSE | Skyline Mail, domains |
| Set-up (weeks 1 to 4) | Shared file storage, a document register, a small server for the project application | Skyline Drive, Riyadh cloud server |
| Execution | Nightly off-site copy of drawings, records and the server's data | Cloud backup |
| Peak manpower | More mailboxes, a larger server if the application needs it | Add mailboxes; resize the server from the console |
| Demobilisation | Export, hand over, close | IMAP export, Drive download, server data copied off, renewals stopped |
Riyadh cloud servers are billed monthly from a prepaid wallet, and you can pay for one, three, six or twelve months at a time. Match the term to the contract, and you never carry a server past the project.
| Server | Spec | SAR / month | About OMR / month | About OMR / 12 months |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Riyadh 1 | 1 vCPU, 4 GB, 50 GB | 99 | 10.151 | 121.810 |
| Riyadh 2 | 2 vCPU, 8 GB, 80 GB | 189 | 19.379 | 232.546 |
| Riyadh 3 | 4 vCPU, 16 GB, 160 GB | 379 | 38.860 | 466.322 |
Prices exclude VAT; OMR is approximate. Every server has full root access, Linux images (Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux) and 10 TB of monthly transfer. For a website and email only, web hosting from 49 SAR a month is enough, and the Dedicated plan's ten included mailboxes suit a small project office.
Connectivity at a construction site or a temporary camp is rarely as good as in an office tower, and it can change week to week as a project grows. We cannot fix the link, so the setup has to tolerate it:
The end of a project is where records get lost. Write a one-page register at mobilisation: every domain, mailbox, shared folder and server, who owns it, and what happens to it at close-out. At demobilisation, export mailboxes over IMAP, download the Drive folders, copy the server's data, give the client what the contract says, and only then stop renewals. If the client requires a system to remain inside Oman after handover, raise a local server request well before the end.
Teams based at Sohar Port or supplying the coast from Muscat have their own pages: Sohar and Muscat. Everything else is on the Oman hub.
Riyadh cloud servers are billed monthly from a prepaid wallet, and you can pay one, three, six or twelve months at a time. When the project ends, stop renewing and remove the server once you have taken your data.
They work over whatever connection you have, and we make no promise about the link itself. Design for it: mail apps that keep a local copy, files synced rather than opened remotely, and large uploads scheduled for quieter hours. Test from the actual site during the trial.
Plan it from day one. Mailboxes can be exported over IMAP, files downloaded from Skyline Drive, and server data copied off before the server is removed. Keep a list of every service and its owner so nothing is left running or deleted by mistake.
No. Services run in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and there is no Skyline office in Oman. If a client contract requires a system inside Oman, a local server is offered on request.
Yes. Register a project or joint-venture domain, or connect one you already have, and run its mailboxes and website on a separate account so the cost and the data stay with that entity.
Mailboxes, a website and a Riyadh server are created from the console as soon as the account is open. DNS changes for a new domain can take some hours to settle everywhere.
Open the account, create the project mailboxes and a shared folder, and test from site. Fourteen days free, no card.
