Skyline prices in Omani rials, and how the billing really works

Omani finance teams think in rials and baisa. Skyline bills in Saudi riyals. This page closes the gap: every published price converted to OMR, the arithmetic behind it, and what actually appears on an Omani card statement. The OMR figures are approximate; the SAR figure is the one you are charged.

Rate used on this page: 1 SAR ≈ 0.1025 OMR, so 1 OMR ≈ 9.753 SAR.

The arithmetic, in three lines

Saudi riyal: pegged at 3.75 SAR to 1 US dollar by the Saudi Central Bank.

Omani rial: pegged at 0.3845 OMR to 1 US dollar by the Central Bank of Oman.

Therefore: 1 SAR = 0.3845 ÷ 3.75 ≈ 0.10253 OMR, and 1 OMR ≈ 9.753 SAR.

A quick mental shortcut: divide the SAR price by ten and take off a little. 49 SAR is a bit over 5 OMR; 199 SAR is about 20.4 OMR. For exact budgeting use the tables below, which are calculated from the current SAR prices each time this page is generated.

A worked annual budget for a small Muscat company

A ten-person trading company wants its website and team email, a small server for its accounting software, and an off-site backup. Here is the year, before VAT:

The Dedicated plan's ten included mailboxes cover the team, so no separate email line is needed for this example. Your mix will differ; the point is that a full year fits on one page, in one currency, from one supplier.

What happens when you pay from an Omani card

  1. You top up the wallet in SAR, for example 500 SAR.
  2. Your bank converts that amount into rials at its own rate on the day, about 51.267 OMR at the peg, plus any foreign-transaction fee your card charges.
  3. Renewals are taken from the wallet in SAR, so you are not exposed to a conversion on every small charge.
  4. Invoices are issued in SAR for every charge. Keep them with the bank statement line for your accountant.

Tip for finance teams: topping up a few months at once means fewer card conversions and fewer fee lines to reconcile. Inside the console you can switch the display currency to OMR at any time to read balances and prices in rials; the charge itself is always in SAR.

Frequently asked questions

Can I be invoiced in Omani rials?

No. Skyline bills only in Saudi riyals. Wallet top-ups, renewals and invoices are all in SAR. The OMR figures on our Oman pages, and the OMR display option in the console, are reading aids.

How do you convert SAR to OMR?

Both currencies are pegged to the US dollar: the Saudi riyal at 3.75 per dollar and the Omani rial at 0.3845 per dollar. Dividing one by the other gives about 9.753 SAR to one Omani rial, or about 0.1025 OMR to one Saudi riyal. We round to three decimals, as baisa are counted.

Why does my bank statement show a slightly different amount?

Your card issuer converts the SAR charge at its own exchange rate and may add a foreign-transaction fee. Those are set by your bank, not by us, so the OMR amount on your statement can differ a little from the figure on our page.

Can I see prices in OMR inside the console?

Yes. The console has a display-currency selector that includes the Omani rial. Prices are converted for reading only, and every charge is still made in SAR.

Are the prices including VAT?

No. Prices are shown excluding VAT. Where 15% Saudi VAT applies, it is added at checkout as a separate line and shown before you pay. How your purchase is treated for Omani VAT is a question for your accountant.

Will the OMR figures change?

Only if a SAR price changes or one of the two pegs moves. Both pegs have been stable for decades, which is why the conversion is reliable enough for budgeting, though not a guarantee.
